China’s WeChat is Everything

It’s general knowledge that China doesn’t have our typical social media accounts such as Facebook and just recently Instagram. They have their own social media platform called WeChat which acts as everything mixed together. This is due to their strict laws about media and the internet and because of this, it has helped create a boom everything to do with social media.

At first it seems like a typically messaging app but there is more underneath the surface:
-       It has a wallet, where you add in your bank account or credit card like Apple Pay and you would be able to pay instore cashless-ly or transfer or gift money to your friends.
-       You can call a cab and pay for it using your wallet feature, putting up close to the app Uber.
-       Media outlets, brands, celebrities and bloggers may post on WeChat, similarly to Twitter.
-       You are even able to buy food and it can be delivered to you, it is by a company named Ele.me like Delieveroo and Ubereats.
-       It is also a market place where you can buy and sell items, or services like eBay, Aliexpress or Gumtree.
-       A price scanner?
-       Reservations and Bookings can be made through the app like Dimmi.
There are many other features and WeChat is a combination of all these apps in one convenient place. Having everything on one app is better as there will be less apps on your screen and less affecting your storage. What do you think? Should the companies come together to create one mega app that has everything within it?
